Mid main art fair
So, after a fun and enriching day painting, I managed to get another deadline met. Today at midnight was the deadline for the group exhibition for The Harmony Arts festival. Now I can refocus my attention on getting all my inventory ready for the Mid Main Art Fair this Sunday! I'm hoping that some of our advertising will bring new and diverse people to the Heritage Hall on 15th and Main Street.
So, with that in mind, I will have the radio set to hopefully hear some news on North by north west tomorrow morning. I'm crossing my fingers! We have 18 terrific artists including Fran Alexander, Mariko Ando, Enda Bardell, Jane Crosby, Lorn Curry, Christine Hood, Jeanette Jarville, Sheree Jones, James Koll, Edward Peck, Elisabeth Somerville, Carol McQuaid, Nicola Morgan, Jackie Conradi Robertson, Camille Sleeman, Jeff Wilson, and Grayzna Wolski. The one day sale is from 11am to 6pm, you can even go to eventbrite and get a free ticket for the fun of it. Entrance is free and each artist will bing their own unique style.
There is so much going on this summer with the Federation. I have had a piece, Boats on the Fraser accepted for the O Canada Show coming up from June 20th to July 4th. This will coincide with the Canada Day celebrations that I am once again volunteering at. We have a new location this year, closer to the Keg. The area will be closed off and will provide lots of foot traffic. Come by and say "Hi" on July 1stcand take a mozy on down to the Federation Gallery to see all the great art up!
Next up will be the opening of the Summer Gallery at Hycroft on July 5th from 6:30 to 8pm. We have seven established and emerging artists to see - Eva Wideman, Joan Hou, Ada Wang, Sarah Johnstone, Mary Stott, Joyce Goodwin and myself. The show will be on until August 29th.
After that is the opening of Divercity at Deer Lake Gallery along with the afternoon Art Attack from 1 to 3pm. The art that is created is auctioned off and the artists in the show are also in the gallery exhibition.
That is plenty to try and keep track with! I didn't even mention that the Vancouver sketch club starts the free Wednesday sketching events around town.....check their blog out as well! Happy Painting!
