Muses from the artistic world of Sonia Mocnik

Its a wrap!

Thankyou everyone who came to visit at the Culturecraw.ca.  You can always go to the website to catch up on all the online videos and catalogues and information about the artists.  This information will continue for a while and allow you to refresh your memory after all that wonderful live activity!

It was fantastic to reconnect with friends and art students and new art lovers!

Thank you for those who purchased my watercolours. I love it when the pieces find their forever homes!

The Surfacing exhibit at the Firehall arts center may still be available to be viewed in conjunction with the play that is currently on.

We returned to pick up our pieces if they have not sold after November 28th.

It was strange seeing the studio back in "studio" mode - it was so much more colourful and lively during the crawl!

Now its onto more fun things - another set of upcoming online watercolour classes starting on the 25th.

I still have art at Hycroft for the Holidays and it is selling well.  Partial proceeds goes to the Hycroft Preservation Fund to help in the ongoing upkeep of the heritage building.

I am excited to announce that a painting from my colour and light series has been accepted in the Works on Paper exhibit in the new year at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island.  More to come about it and other events proposed for the new year.

Happy Painting everyone!

Mahonia

Another term for the foliage Oregon Grape.  This plant is so mesmerizing to me. Outside of the Silk Purse Art Centre, these plants have been showing me a new colour or variation.  I have walked by them and had to take photos each time since I started volunteering at the center earlier in the summer.

The rain drops, change in flowering stem to purple fruit, the colours from the entire colour wheel.  I have found my muse like Van Gogh felt about his sunflowers.

working on a few more pieces, but I get see larger watercolours coming in this series _ it is so addictive!
