My artwork captures colour, light and the relationship they make with the stroke of the paint brush. The observation of life in a moment lends itself to details that otherwise would not be observed and also leads to wanting to further understand what the eye sees.
I am inspired by nature and the outdoors and spend time between Vancouver, B.C., Canada and the area of Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. The beautiful natural surroundings of mountains, ocean and parks in B.C. and the abundant bird life, vibrancy of color and charm of the small towns on Lake Chapala, provide many interesting themes for my paintings and drawings. I am drawn to watercolour, but enjoy pen and ink and acrylic as media. Plein Air is one of my favorite activities. I am an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver, Hycroft Painters and a member of the Vancouver Sketch Club. I am also a member of the Lake Chapala Painting Guild and Ajijiic Society of the Arts in Mexico.
I have taken direction and workshops in watercolour painting from Alfonso Tejada, Ratrinadra Das, AWS, NWS, Enda Bardell, Miguel Nunez Flores, and workshops in acrylic from Jan Poynter and Andrew McDermot, IAPS/MC, SFCA,PSC, former president of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
My art works are held in Australia, Canada, US, Mexico, Germany, Netherlands and the U.K.
